Webinar Inside NextGen: Holiday Accommodation

26. 05. 2026, Online

Our second Inside NextGen webinar of the year took place on May 26, aimed particularly to those considering having a holiday accommodation in their historic house.

With summer approaching, the seminar focused on holiday accommodations, exploring the main challenges faced by owners of historic buildings when opening their doors to tourism. The session included first-hand experience, and practical advice on how to make the most of this opportunity. Additional topics such as sustainability, rural tourism, and the role of heritage properties in creating visitor experiences were also discussed.

On this occasion, we were accompanied by two wonderful speakers:

Anne R. Bolkesjø, owner of Bolkesjø Gaard (Norway), where her family has lived since the 1500s. After an extensive restoration in 2024, it now welcomes overnight guests. With a background in auditing and finance, Anne works full-time with the development and operation of Bolkesjø Gaard, while serving as a deputy board member of Fredet, our Norwegian association.

Alexandra Crichton, founder of the marketing and PR agency A Marr & Associates Ldt and manager of the Monzie Estate in Perthshire. Together with her husband, they began making the wider estate sustainable by opening one holiday cottage and then restoring a series of derelict buildings, creating six properties.

This was a perfect opportunity to learn from one another, ask questions, and get ready for the holiday season, providing useful information to everyone interested in holiday accommodation. If you missed the webinar, don’t worry – check the recording on our YouTube channel!
