How can cultural heritage be transformed into engaging digital and immersive experiences?
Join us for Cultural Heritage to Digital Experiences: 3D Digitisation and Immersive Projects in Practice, a practical webinar exploring how technologies such as photogrammetry, LiDAR, 3D modelling, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) are being used to document, interpret and reimagine cultural heritage.
Through real-world projects and practical examples, our speakers will explore the journey from the digitisation of heritage assets to the creation of immersive experiences for museums, exhibitions and cultural tourism.
Meet the speakers
Alexandre González Rivas is a historian and 3D artist specialising in cultural heritage digitisation and virtual restoration. His work combines photogrammetry, 3D modelling and immersive technologies, including AR and VR applications developed for museums, exhibitions and cultural tourism.
Emilia Gozzano is an award-winning film director and XR artist specialising in animation, immersive storytelling and interactive media. Her work includes AR and VR experiences for cultural heritage exhibitions, as well as projects that transform analogue content into interactive digital experiences.
Programme
11:00–11:40 — 3D Digitisation and Immersive Technologies
Alexandre González Rivas will introduce the technologies and workflows used in 3D heritage digitisation, from photogrammetry, laser scanning and LiDAR to 3D modelling, AR, VR, virtual tours and Unreal Engine.
11:40–12:10 — Cultural Heritage and XR Projects
Emilia Gozzano will present real-world AR and MR projects developed for cultural heritage exhibitions, alongside examples of her studio’s work transforming analogue comics and other content into interactive experiences.
12:10–12:25 — From Heritage Asset to Digital Experience: A Practical Workflow
Alexandre will take participants through the digitisation of a heritage asset, demonstrating the process from photogrammetry and 3D modelling through texturing and lighting to the final rendering in Unreal Engine.
12:25–12:30 — Closing
