NextGen Cultural Weekend Zurich

18. – 20. 10. 2024, Zurich

The 6th NextGen Culture Weekend took place in Switzerland. We not only had the opportunity to visit Zurich, but also the old Grisons town of Ilanz/Glion and Reichenau Castle.

On Friday, we had an architect’s tour of a city villa on Breitingerstrasse before being invited to a guided tour and dinner in the exclusive boathouse of the Grasshopper Zurich rowing club. A real gem! On Saturday we travelled to the Grisons mountains, to the first town on the Rhine: Ilanz/Glion. We were able to visit numerous old private town properties and gained a lively insight into the approach to revitalizing an old town. Lunch was served in a historic old town house with beautiful, vaulted ceilings and careful renovation work. Before we met in Zurich for dinner, we visited Reichenau Castle on the way back. A family business including winegrowing. Great!

Sunday concluded with a visit to Tiefenbrunnen Mill – we were given personal and interesting insights into the feasibility of a living cultural area.
