Webinar Inside NextGen: Foraging

02. 09. 2025, Online

On September 2nd 2025, we hosted an “Inside NextGen” webinar on Nature Walks and Mushrooms, aimed at discovering the rich traditions, ecological insights, and culinary possibilities hidden in Europe’s historic landscapes.

For the occasion, we invited two special speakers: Giorgenzo Treves de Bonfili (Italy) and Alicia Clements (Ireland).

Giorgenzo Treves de Bonfili is a young entrepreneur operating between Padua, where his family has been based since the 1800s, and Pralboino, a small town in the province of Brescia, where he manages the family’s agricultural estates. Since 2020, he has taken over the family’s arable farming operations, with a focus on forage cereals and renewable energy production. He has also restored a historic farmhouse on the property, now operating as an agriturismo with accommodation, and is set to convert the remaining structure into a restaurant by the end of the year. Giorgenzo is active in agricultural policy, serving as a councillor for the local youth branch of Confagricoltura (ANGA Brescia) and regularly advocating for farmers’ rights in Brussels with CEJA (European Council of Young Farmers).

Alicia Clements is the daughter of the Earl of Rosse. She manages the Birr Castle Estate and is responsible for Birr Castle and its collections. She also has a degree in engineering and a scientific background. She is also the Executive Officer of the Oxmantown Settlement Trust, and Project Manager for the Birr Scientific and Heritage Foundation. She lives with her family in a Georgian House on the estate.
