European Historic Houses

CliP-ComE

CliP-ComE (Climate Protection Competences for European Historic Houses) was a two-year project funded by Creative Europe aimed at enhancing the sustainability and energy efficiency of historic houses across Europe by providing specialised training and support.

Its objectives included increasing the operational capacity of historic houses sites and their staff, improving skills in energy efficiency and climate protection, and raising awareness of the EU climate goals, such as the Green Deal and Fit for 55. Through workshops, training modules, and best practice examples, the project supported heritage professionals in applying traditional skills to modern refurbishments and promoting sustainable practices. It also introduced the figure of “Climate Protection Guards” – individuals trained to act as ambassadors for climate action.

CliP-ComE brought together 5 partners from 3 different European countries:

Burghauptmannschaft Österreich (Austria)
European Historic Houses (Belgium)
IVEM Institute for Heritage and Marketing (The Netherlands)
European Certification and Qualification Association GmbH (Austria)
Unternehmensberatung Wagenhofer GmbH (Austria)
